IPL 2025: Predicting MI’s playing XI for their clash against KKR

Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 12th game on March 31, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL).  Mumbai’s season began with a defeat to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).  The Mumbai Indians squad lost to their fiercest rivals at Chepauk and failed to display their true class.

However, KKR overcame the Rajasthan Royals in their most recent game.  The Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR in their opening game.  Therefore, both teams will aim to secure all two points on Monday.

Top Order:

Rohit Sharma will open the batting attack with Ryan Rickelton. Both the players are known to get an attacking start.  During the last game against CSK both the openers did not get to show their batting skills but the game KKR gave them a chance to show their batting power. Rohit Sharma got a poor start as he went without scoring. But Ryan Rickelton managed to score 13 runs before getting out. Coming down to bat Will Jacks is another hard-hitting batter who can continue the good runs. He can be a dangerous batter in the power play.

Middle Order:

Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya are the pillars of Mumbai Indians’ middle order. All three players are well experienced and know the responsibility very well. In the last game against Suryakumar Yadav scored 29 runs which helped the team to get stability. Tilak Varma can also put the team in a strong position and Hardik Pandya adds power to the middle order with his batting style. He can take the game in deep with his batting style.

Lower-Middle Order:

Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner can be game-changers for the team. Deepak Chahar can swing the bat around the ground. His cameo can help the team to get out of trouble. In the last game, Deepak Chahar scored 29 as the team reached a total of 155. Santner can help the team with bat and ball. His bowling ability is very effective in death overs. He slows the game and with his perfect line and length, he doesn’t leak much run. 

Lower Order:

Trent Boult will be the main bowler for the team. He will open the bowling attack for the team as he can swing the new ball. He will get support from Satyanarayana Raju who is good pacer in the team. Vignesh Puthur is a very talented spin bowler. In last game he picked three wickets and put CSK in difficult situation.

Impact Player:

Naman Dhir is a good all-rounder.  He can help the team with batting and bowling. In last season he scored 140 runs and helped MI to get of trouble.
