Delhi Capitals have started the IPL 2025 season on a strong note with two successive wins and are sitting second in the table. Axar Patel and his side have played amazing cricket as seen with their win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game. Delhi though will be wary of the threat CSK bring to the table as the former IPL winners have lost two games on the bounce.
The season began with a one wicket win over Lucknow at home before beating SRH with a comprehensive margin. It seem after over five years the DC side have finally cracked the code once again and have made themselves into title contenders once more. Their biggest test awaits them in Chennai as Ruturaj Gaikwad and his men look to stop DC’s winning run.
Here is the Likely DC XI vs CSK
Top order – Jake Fraser- McGurk and Faf Du Plessis

After scoring just one run in the first game of the season, McGurk scored 38 in the second encounter against SRH. The young batter has been one of the best young talents in the world and took the tournament by storm last year when he came in as a replacement player. Faf Du Plessis is another player who knows the conditions in Chennai well having played few seasons at this venue, the former SA skipper scored a fifty in the last game vs SRH to show his form with the bat.
Middle Order – Abhishek Porel, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs

It is rare to see one team have wicketkeepers follow each other in the batting order and also do well with the willow in hand. Abhishek Porel is a naturally attacking batter with the ability to score runs against both pacers and spinners with ease. There is no questioning KL Rahul’s talent with the bat as he is one of the few batters with multiple IPL centuries. Tristan Stubbs is the X-Factor with the bat as he can score key runs towards the end of the innings.
Lower Middle Order – Axar Patel, Vipraj Nigam and Mitchell Starc

Skipper Axar Patel has become a key batter for India in the middle-order and played a key cameo against LSG in the first game. Axar has also been decent with the ball and given his team key wickets at regular intervals. Vipraj Nigam set the league on fire with his amazing batting against LSG. Mitchell Starc picked his first IPL fifer as he ran through a strong SRH lineup last Sunday.
Tailenders – Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma, and Mukesh Kumar

Indian left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has begun the season with a bang with five wickets from two games. Chennai may just be the track where Yadav can do well and claim more wickets. Mohit Sharma who is yet another CSK player will have good memories of the ground. Mukesh Kumar who has been out of the Indian team for a year now will want to perform well and grab his place in the national side once more.
