IPL 2025: Predicting DC’s playing XI for their clash against RCB

The table toppers Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 24th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium will host this game on Thursday, April 10. DC have been in a brilliant run of form in the tournament’s current season.

They are coming off three consecutive wins in their first three games so far, including the most recent 25-run win against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the previous game. Axar Patel’s men will aim to win this game and maintain their dominance at the top of the tournament standings.

Having said that, here we’ll look at the predicted playing XI of Delhi Capitals for their next clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Openers – Jake Fraser-McGurk and KL Rahul (WK)

The opening pair of Delhi Capitals will include the aggression of young batter Jake Fraser-McGurk and the experience of the veteran wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul. However, JFM failed to live up to the expectations in the last game against CSK, getting dismissed on a duck but the management will look ahead to trust the young batter once again for opening the innings.

Speaking of the veteran wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, he played a match-winning knock of 77 runs off just 51 balls, with six fours and three sixes against CSK. He also won the ‘Player of the Match award for his decisive knock to help DC win the game against CSK.

Middle-Order – Abishek Porel, Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs, and Ashutosh Sharma

The middle-order of the Delhi Capitals will start with the in-form number three batter Abishek Porel; he scored 33 runs off just 20 balls, with 4 fours and a six against CSK in the last game. He could be a vital asset with the bat for DC while batting at the top of the order. He will be followed by either Sameer Rizvi or all-rounder and skipper Axar Patel to bat at number four, depending on the situation of the game.

Sameer Rizvi scored 20 runs off 15 balls, with one four and a six followed by number six batter Tristan Stubbs’ 24 runs off just 12 balls, with two fours and a six. Later in the middle order, the blistering batter Ashutosh Sharma will be there to add some crucial runs in the lower middle order.

All-Rounder – Axar Patel (C)

Skipper Axar Patel himself will be there in the capacity of a specialist all-rounder in the playing XI for the next game against RCB. He scored 21 runs off 14 balls, hitting two fours and a six with the bat. Besides that, he also bowled an over with the ball in the second innings, conceding only 5 runs.

So, he could be a perfect choice to pick as an all-rounder in the playing XI for the Delhi Capitals for the upcoming clash against Rajat Patidar’s men.

Bowlers – Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohit Sharma

The bowling quartet of the Capitals in the game against RCB might include two pacers and two spinners. Mitchell Starc and Mohit Sharma will be there as the senior pacers to start the attack in the powerplay with the new ball. The pace duo will be accompanied by the spin duo of Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav to restrict RCB to a low total.

Mitchell Starc scalped 1 wicket at just 27 runs in his 4 overs, alongside two wickets scalped by Vipraj Nigam at just 27 runs in his four-over spell. Kuldeep Yadav also scalped a wicket at 30 runs in his 4 overs. Besides this bowling attack, star pacer Mukesh Kumar might also be introduced as an impact player if DC bats in the second innings against RCB.
