The IPL 2024 is slowly coming towards its business end right now and this will now be the time to talk about one of the exciting sides in the tournament. The Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) led by a new skipper Pat Cummins is a story to tell. The franchise had to make a comeback after suffering some terrible seasons failing to make the playoffs of the tournament. After spending some big money in the auction it is safe to say that they needed a way to turn their season around.
SRH have broken some big records this season, which also include the highest score in IPL ever. They have been a team filled with some explosive batters in Travis Head, Heinrich Klassen and Abhishek Sharma. Despite these achievements, they will still have to come back after two big losses against table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR). Let us see what kind of playing XI is expected.
So, here is the predicted playing XI for the Hyderabad franchise for their upcoming game:
1. Travis Head
Travis Head has been in the form of his life and has lived up to his price tag in the season. He is currently the highest run scorer for SRH this year and has been giving them great starts at the top which should fix his place in the XI.
2. Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma is one of the iconic players for SRH and has been equally remarkable at the top. His ability to play an aggressive game as an opener has made him one of the team’s trump cards. His handy left-arm spinners make him even more effective.
3. Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram has been an important figure in the SRH batting lineup who cannot only play the big shots but also set partnerships in the middle. He has proven this for the franchise every time he has come into bat.
4. Heinrich Klassen(WK)
South African wicketkeeper Heinrich Klassen has more or less established himself as a middle-order batter and fixed-keeping option for the side. His ability to play spin will also be a major plus to counter the world-class RR spin attack.
5. Nitish Reddy
Nitish Reddy still has a long way to go as a player, but he has shown some potential which should be backed in the next few games as well. The fact that he can bowl some handy medium pace will just add depth to the squad.
6. Washington Sundar
Speaking of depth in the squad it will be better if SRH start using the likes of Washington Sundar as well. Sundar with his accurate off-spinner and his more than handy lower-order batting can be something SRH will need for chasing if required.
7. Shahbaz Ahmed
Shahbaz Ahmed has been impressive this season for SRH. Not only has made it a habit of bowling some important spells in the middle, but his explosive batting down the order has helped the team a lot.
8. Pat Cummins(c)
Pat Cummins being the captain has had a decent season so far. Not only has he got 10 wickets but also some important runs when his team has needed. We could say that the skipper has been leading from the front this year.
9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
This has once again not been the best season for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but he is still one of their key bowlers in the side and has done a fairly decent job in the powerplay. However, SRH will still want him to get some wickets in the matches as well.
10. Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat has been great in the last few matches that he has featured in. The left-arm seamer has taken wickets and was one of the best bowlers in the games as well. It will be interesting to see what plans the franchise has for him going forward.
11. T Natarajan
He is arguably the best bowler for SRH so far this season and has shown his ability to take wickets. His variations and yorkers will be something that the RR batters will struggle to handle when he is in complete rhythm.
Impact- Abdul Samad
This might be a much better option for the Orange Army to use Samad as an impact player, who can bash the ball around in the end. This will also give him a complete licence as a finisher in the tournament.
