The opening pair of the MI team in the upcoming clash will be Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. The dynamic duo has been a critical factor in the success of the MI over the years. The former MI skipper had not really been in fine tune in the previous few editions but with a player of his caliber one knows that he is just an innings away. Similarly, Kishan has a lot at stake after being sacked from BCCI’s annual contract. The number three position will be taken by Naman Dhir is playing as a replacement for the injured Suryakumar Yadav. The young batter has looked good in both the games that he has played for the franchise.

The number four spot will be slotted in by Tilak Varma who was the find for MI in the previous two seasons. The prolific left-hand batter looked sublime in the second game where he played a phenomenal innings of 64 runs off just 34 deliveries. The number five spot will be slotted in by the skipper Hardik Pandya, who has a lot to prove in this year’s IPL. The amount of back clashes that he has been facing throughout the season is immense. The number six place will be slotted in by Tim David who looked out of sought in the initial phase of his innings but later on capitalized with some immense stroke play. The number seven position will be slotted in by Romario Shepherd who is rightfully in the team for his sheer batting prowess.

Bowlers

The number eight position will be slotted in by Gerald Coetzee who will also bring in the option of batting as well as bowling hence increasing the depth in the MI playing XI. The number nine position will be slotted in by Piyush Chawla followed by Jasprit Bumrah at number 10. A lot will depend on Bumrah as to how he leads the young bowling lineup of MI. The number 11th position will be taken in by Shams Mulani who will likely play when MI is bowling first and when MI is batting Nihal Wadhera is likely to get a chance as an impact sub.
