If there was any new IPL franchise that has excited us the most it has been the Gujarat Titans(GT). However, in this current season, they have not really been one of the strongest contenders right now. They will be facing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the second time this season and will be hoping to avenge their loss after the last encounter where they ended up on the losing side at the Motera.
The GT side recently has won only 4 games in the 10 matches they have played and will be looking to make a comeback starting from this game. To keep themselves in the playoff race Shubman Gill and his side will want to win every game going forward in this tournament and keep their chances alive. This is the first time the side will be under pressure after two great seasons prior to this edition. They will be wanting to build a great side in the upcoming game which could turn the result in their favour.
Here is the predicted playing squad for the Titans in the upcoming encounter:
1. Wriddhiman Saha(wk)
Even though it has not been the best of seasons for Wriddhiman Saha this tournament, he is still a player capable of giving a great start at the top and being an important player in the side.
2. Shubman Gill(c)
Shubman Gill has still been one of the top run-getters for the side and will be tested for the first time as a skipper leading his team under pressure. It is time to prove himself as both a captain and a leader in this tournament.
3. Sai Sudharshan
The southpaw is arguably the best batter for GT this season and played a great knock in the last game. Sai Sudharshan has been one of the trusted batters in the GT squad and has given some iconic performances as well.
4. David Miller
David Miller will be looking to get back to his destructive form, especially at the Chinnaswamy. It is also time that the franchise get to see the explosive Killer Miller who dominates every bowler he is up against.
5. Azmatullah Omarzai
Even though Azmatullah Omarzai is yet to live up to his potential in this tournament, it seems like GT is still planning to back him as he is not only useful with the bat but also has bowled decently in the powerplay.
6. Shahrukh Khan
The last match was evident enough of what Tamil Nadu explosive batter Shahrukh Khan is capable of. He will also enjoy batting at a venue which is known to be a paradise for the batters. There are big things expected from him in the upcoming game as well.
7. Rahul Tewatia
Rahul Tewatia is the designated finisher for GT and he has proven that in the past as well. The ability he possesses of hitting sixes at will is a great asset for him as a player and his team. He will certainly be one of the dangerous batters to look out for.
8. Rashid Khan
This might not be the best of seasons for Rashid Khan, but we still cannot count him out as he is still one of the best bowlers in T20 cricket right now. He is still the most important and experienced player in the side.
9. Jayant Yadav
We know that Sai Kishore is a talented player, but Jayant Yadav can also be a player that could come in handy on the day as well. He also has enough experience to play in pressure matches as well.
10. Spencer Johnson
Though Noor Ahmad has been a great spinner for GT, there is a need for another good pace bowler who can bowl in the powerplay and Spencer Johnson is the perfect candidate for that role. The young Aussie is also known for taking wickets at the death.
11. Mohit Sharma
Mohit Sharma might not have had the breakthrough season he had last year so far, but the team has still backed him with his experience and variations. There is no doubt that he is counted as one of the key players for the franchise.
Impact: Abhinav Manohar
It is high time GT used this young talented player who has been one of their upcoming stars in the past as well. Abhinav Manohar should be backed as the impact player at a high-scoring ground in Bangalore as well.
