The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League saw some brilliant batting performances from many Indian and foreign batters. There were many batters who dominated throughout the tournament and displayed some outstanding knocks which helped their teams to achieve a massive total and due to which many fans and cricket experts got impressed.
Twelve centuries were smashed this season which is by far the most in any season in the history of IPL. On that note, we will take a look at the top 3 highest individual scores of the Indian Premier League 2023.
1. Shubman Gill (129)
The 23-year-old young batter was in tremendous form in IPL 2023 as he scored 890 runs in just 17 matches at an average of 59.33 and also won the orange cap. Gill scored 3 centuries this season but the knock against Mumbai Indians (MI) made him the highest individual scorer of the season by scoring 129 runs off just 60 balls.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal (124)
Another young Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal outplayed his opening partner Jos Buttler this season. Jaiswal scored 625 runs in just 14 matches at a brilliant average of 48.07, however, he would have scored more runs if Rajasthan Royals have qualified for the playoffs. The 23-year-old played a breathtaking knock of 124 runs against MI which is the second-highest individual score of the season. He took only 62 balls to score 124 runs.
3. Shubman Gill, Heinrich Klaasen and Venkatesh Iyer (104)
Gill was very consistent throughout the tournament as he scored 104 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the last league match which also ended RCB’s hopes to qualify for the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) destructive wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klassen played a brilliant knock of 104 runs off just 51 balls against RCB. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) top-order batter Venkatesh Iyer smashed a brilliant century against MI 104 runs off just 51 deliveries which made him the joint 3rd highest individual scorer of the season.
