In this article, we will discuss the Inzamam-ul-Haq’s top 3 performances in ODI Cricket. The middle order is a very challenging front to conquer for any batter, especially in limited-overs cricket. But there is one player who mastered the art of winning games for his team batting in the middle order. We are talking about none other than the former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. Let us take a look at his top 3 batting performances in ODI cricket.
#1. 137* vs New Zealand, 1994
Inzamam-ul-Haq loved batting against New Zealand and he delivered some of his best batting performances against the Kiwis. He also achieved his best batting figures in ODI cricket against the same opposition when he scored an unbeaten 137 runs in Sharjah. In this match, the Kiwis won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. On a good batting track, Inzamam exploited that invitation to play a sublime knock as Pakistan went past the 300-run mark in the first innings.
#2. 123 vs India, 2004
The former Pakistan skipper had a good track record against the arch-rivals India. He played some notable innings against India and this is one of those batting masterclasses. Pakistan was hosting India for a bilateral series after a long time and Inzamam did not waste this opportunity. He smashed a century in the fourth match of the ODI series in Lahore. Courtesy of his knock Pakistan posted 293 runs batting first though the target was eventually chased down by India. However, Inzamam’s effort did not go unnoticed and he was awarded the player of the match for his knock.
#3. 122 vs India, 2004
Here is another brilliant knock from Inzamam-ul-Haq in the same series against India. Batting first in the series opener India challenged the hosts by scoring 349 runs in the first innings. The run chase was an arduous task for Pakistan but the captain stepped up to lead his team from the front. Inzamam smashed a century to keep his team in the contest. Pakistan almost chased the total but due to some slip-ups, the home team could not cross the finishing line as they lost the match agonizingly by 5 runs.
