IND vs AUS: Predicting 3 contenders to win Player of the Series award in their upcoming ODI series 

India is set to host Australia once again this year in a 3-match ODI series starting on 22nd September 2023. This will be both nations’ final ODI assignments ahead of the ODI World Cup which begins on October 5th. Both the sides play their first match against each other in the tournament on October 8th and would look to be at their best when that much comes close.

This series would surely be a great one with some of the best ODI players from both countries participating and hoping to come out on top. Both the sides’ have senior players that can prove to be the match-winners for their side but only one can take home the Player of the Series award for the upcoming series.

1. Steve Smith

Steve Smith is having an incredible year in almost all formats of the game and the 2015 World Cup winner would be hoping to be at his best once again. He loves playing against India and ODI is one of the perfect formats for a player like him. He is always amongst the runs and is surely one of the top contenders for the Player of the Series award

His scores and victories have largely been versus Australia, one among the greatest cricket teams ever. The Australians even respected Kohli because of his consistently Australian approach. India would be hoping he is amongst the runs again this series so that he can be a strong contender for the Player of the Series award

3. Jasprit Bumrah

Ever since his long-awaited comeback into cricket, Jasprit Bumrah is looking like a new fit version of himself. A tough Australian batting line-up provides him the best opportunity to test himself and help out the team by taking a major chunk of the wickets. He can surely end up as the top wicket taker for the side and bring home the Player of the Series award.
