Imran Tahir’s top 3 performances in ODI Cricket

At the age of 37 Imran Tahir became the No.1 ODI and T20I bowler in the cricket world. His cricketing journey started in 2011. He made his ODI debut for South Africa in the ICC 2011 ODI World Cup against West Indies. He made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in 2013 and his Test debut in 2011 against Australia. Imran Tahir has played 20 Test matches and picked 57 wickets. In ODI he has played 107 matches and taken 173 wickets. He also represented South Africa in T20 he played 38 T20I matches and picked 63 wickets. Imran Tahir is one of the most successful bowlers who has played for South Africa. He is also the third-highest wicket-taker for South Africa in the World Cups.

1. Imran Tahir 7/45 vs West Indies

In the 6th match of the tri-series against South Africa and West Indies in Basseterre. After winning the toss, West Indies decided to field first. Putting South Africa to bat both the openers got a good start as they posted 182 runs partnership for the first wicket. Later South Africa scored a huge total of 343 runs to chase for the West Indies. Going to chase the target set by South Africa, West Indies lost their first wicket on 69 runs on the scoreboard. As Imran Tahir got the wicket of Andre Flecther. Imran Tahir took 7 wickets in that match as West Indies were all down at a score of 204 runs.  South Africa won the match by 139 runs and Imran Tahir took seven wickets and gave 45 runs in 9 overs. His bowling spell helped him to win the Man of the Match award.

2. Imran Tahir 6/24 vs Zimbabwe

In the 2nd ODI between South Africa and Zimbabwe at Mangaung Oval at, Bloemfontein. After winning the toss, South Africa decided to bat first. However, Zimbabwe managed to restrict South Africa to 198 runs only. In reply managed to score only 78 runs as Imran Tahir took 6 wickets and gave only 24 runs from six overs. He also took a hat-trick and became the fourth player from South Africa to take a hat-trick. South Africa won the game by 120 runs.

3. Imran Tahir 5/45 vs West Indies

It was the 2015 ICC ODI World Cup match in Sydney, Australia. The match was between South Africa and Australia. After winning the toss, South Africa decided to bat first. South Africa posted a huge score of 408 runs at the loss of 5 wickets as AB de Villers scored 162 runs. In reply, West Indies managed to score only 151 before getting all out. Imran Tahir took 5 wickets and gave only 45 runs from 10 overs as South Africa won by 257 runs.
