Glenn Maxwell played this destructive knock against the Dutch in the 2023 ODI World Cup. The stage was Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and the entertainer was the “Big Show.” Maxwell annihilated the Dutch bowling attack and hit them all over the park to take Australia to a massive total in the first innings. This is also the fastest century made in the ODI World Cup. Maxwell completed his century in just 40 balls. Australia won this match comfortably in the end by a huge margin of 309 runs.

2. 108 vs England, 2020

Maxwell scored this brilliant century when his team needed someone to step up. It was made in a run chase against the arch-rivals England at the Old Trafford. The Kangaroos were chasing a challenging target of 303 and Glenn Maxwell along with Alex Carey played crucial knocks to take Australia across the finishing line. When Maxwell walked in to bat Australia had already lost five wickets for just 73 runs. The chase looked like a daunting task but there is always some hope whenever Maxwell is at the crease. Eventually, Australia chased this target with two balls to spare and three wickets in hand.

This divine inning played by Maxwell is arguably one of the greatest ever ODI knocks in the history of this format and undoubtedly the best ODI World Cup knock. The Kangaroos had almost submitted themselves to the ruthless bowling from the Afghans but Glenn Maxwell had different intentions. Maxwell single-handedly kept Australia in the contest and guided Australia to a memorable win. He was struggling with cramps but his sheer will to not accept the defeat stood out in this classic encounter.
