The English team could not get past the Super 6 stage in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup as they finished fourth in the table and got knocked out of the race to the semi-finals. However, this campaign was not without a few key individual contributions. In this article, we will take a look at England’s top 3 performers in the Under-19 World Cup 2024.

The 17-year-old talented leg-spinner is a find of this tournament for England. The young leggie took 14 wickets in just 4 matches proving his potential on the big stage. His most impressive performance came against Zimbabwe when he picked up 7 wickets in Potchefstroom. Along with this he also picked up 3 wickets against formidable South Africa and West Indies. This was an ordinary campaign from England but Tazeem’s performance is a big positive for them.

The English batters could not accumulate a huge amount of runs which also emerged as a major reason behind their underwhelming performance in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. However, there were still a few notable players who showcased their skills in the tournament. The left-handed Ben McKinney is one of those individuals who made their presence felt with their performance. McKinney scored 203 in 5 matches at an average of 40.60. His campaign also included a half-century that he scored against Scotland.

The 19-year-old right-handed Noah Thain is another batter who caught the attention of fans and pundits. He plays for Essex in domestic cricket and in this World Cup, he was among the better performers from the English team. Thain played 4 matches in the tournament scoring 138 runs at an average of 46. He delivered his best batting performance against the hosts South Africa who were the eventual semi-finalists when he played an unbeaten 63-run knock to contribute to his team.
