Ben Stokes has been one of the pillars of England Cricket in the recent past. He has been instrumental in the success of English cricket in all the formats. The all-rounder has always delivered on big occasions. Stokes was pivotal in taking England to the ultimate glory in 2019 when they won the ODI World Cup.

Let’s take a look at Ben Stokes’s top 3 knocks in ODI cricket:

1. 182 vs New Zealand, 2023

vs New Zealand 2023

His best batting performance in ODI cricket came against the Kiwis. In the third match of the ODI series, he played this match-winning knock. The New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and put England to bat first and on the very first ball of the match England lost Jonny Bairstow. New Zealand bowlers were also quick to dismiss Joe Root to put England in a spot of bother.

Ben Stokes along with Dawid Maland rescued England from that situation and carried the team to a huge total with his daddy hundred. England put up 368 runs on the board in the first innings and bowled New Zealand out for 187 to register a convincing victory. Stokes was adjudged player of the match for his century.

2. 108 vs Netherlands, 2023

vs Netherlands 2023 3

This was Ben Stokes’ first century in an ODI World Cup. England’s qualification hopes for the semi-finals were over but they were fighting for a spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy. A win against the Netherlands was a must to keep their qualification bid intact.

England batted first and in the middle phase they lost a couple of wickets which could have derailed their innings but Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes made sure that they put enough runs on the board. In the end, England made 339 runs and won the match comfortably to stay in the race for the Champions Trophy.

3. 102* vs Australia, 2017

vs Australia 2017

Another multilateral event century for Ben Stokes but this time in the Champions Trophy against arch-rivals Australia in the group stage clash. Australia had posted a challenging target for England. The English team needed someone to step up in a rain-curtailed match. Ben Stokes assisted his skipper Eoin Morgan to keep England on track in the run chase. The duo batted with an aggressive approach which resulted in a 40-run victory (D/L) for England.
