Andrew Strauss chose the perfect occasion to deliver his best batting performance in ODI cricket. He achieved his best batting figures in one-day cricket in a group-stage match against India in the ODI World Cup 2011. The two teams clashed in an important fixture where captain Strauss led from the front with a century in the first innings that enabled England to post a challenging target of 338 runs for India to chase. Interestingly, this match ended in a tie but the English captain was awarded the Player of the Match for his heroic knock in the first innings.

Here is another top-notch batting masterclass from Andrew Strauss. He played this knock against Bangladesh in the third match of the ODI series between the two teams in 2010. Winning the toss, Bangladesh invited England to bat first. Strauss grabbed this invitation and smashed a memorable century for his team. He scored 154 runs off just 140 deliveries and riding on his century England ended up with 347 runs in the first innings. 

#3. 152 vs Bangladesh, 2005

Andrew Strauss scored 152 runs against Bangladesh in the 2005 NatWest series. Michael Vaughan elected to bat first after winning the toss and his team responded to his call. Opener Andrew Strauss led the batting unit with his quickfire innings. His 152 runs off 128 runs rattled the opposition bowling unit as England almost crossed the 400-run mark. In the end, England scored 391 runs in the first innings giving a humongous target to Bangladesh. The hosts eventually won the match by 168 runs.
