Ajinkya Rahane is one of the finest overseas batters for India. The Mumbai-born batter did not get enough limelight and credit for the innings that he played for the side over the years. Australia, after winning the toss elected to bat first and posted 530 runs in the first innings. India got off to a good start but they lost two quick wickets and then a 262 run partnership between Virat Kohli and Rahane helped them to go past 450 run mark. Kohli scored 169 and the latter scored 147 down under against a strong Australian bowling lineup.
