Ajinkya Rahane’s Top 3 Performances in Test Cricket 

Ajinkya Rahane is one of the finest overseas batters for India. The Mumbai-born batter did not get enough limelight and credit for the innings that he played for the side over the years. He has the record of making a hundred in each innings of a match. However, he currently plays in first-class cricket looking for yet another comeback to the Men in Blue side. 

Rahane has been one of the finest test captains for India as well. He down under in Australia turned around a young Indian team to win the Test series after the side missed some of their experienced side due to injuries and personal reasons as well. This was the second back to back win of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in their soil after being bundled out for 36 runs in the first test. 

The 35-year-old has played several match winning and saving innings for the country. 3. 132 vs Sri Lanka, 2017 

India won the toss and elected to bat first in the game against Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue were at a decent stage when Rahane came into bat they were 133/3. With Cheteshwar Pujara there in the crease and they stitched a partnership of 217 runs with both batters scoring a century respectively. As the Mumbai batter played a knock of 132 runs with India posting a mammoth total of 622 runs in the first innings. 

2. 147 vs Australia, 2014

Australia, after winning the toss elected to bat first and posted 530 runs in the first innings. India got off to a good start but they lost two quick wickets and then a 262 run partnership between Virat Kohli and Rahane helped them to go past 450 run mark. Kohli scored 169 and the latter scored 147 down under against a strong Australian bowling lineup. 

1. 188 vs New Zealand, 2016

India after batting first lost three wickets within the 100 run mark and then yet again Kohli and Rahane stitching a partnership of 365 runs for the 3rd wicket, with then the captain scoring a double century and the latter playing a knock of 188 runs posting a total of 557 runs and the Men in Blue won the game by 321 runs.
