Let’s look at the top three unlucky players to miss out on South Africa’s squad for ODI World Cup 2023:
3. Tristan Stubbs:
One of the players who will not be selected for the ODI World 2023 roster is Tristan Stubbs. The tournament is set to take place in India in the months of October and November of this year. He has played only one ODI match in his international career so far. The Proteas team have gone with experience rather than having faith in the youngsters.
2. Dewald Brevis:
When South Africa announced the squad for the ODI World Cup 2023, the most talking point was young batting sensation Dewald Brevis’s exclusion from the squad. Despite his exceptional performance in domestic and franchise cricket, the Board decided to ignore him for the upcoming mega event. However, he has got a maiden call-up for the ODI series against Australia.
1. Wayne Parnell:
Star South Africa all-rounder, Wayne Parnell is one of the unluckiest South African cricketers to miss the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. He suffered an injury before the mega event and is currently in rehab where he is recovering from his injury. Young Gerald Coetzee has replaced Parnell in the squad.
