3 SRH players who could stay on bench during IPL 2025

Discover the 3 SRH players (Sunrisers Hyderabad) who might spend most of IPL 2025 on the bench. Sunrisers Hyderabad have again become the force of the league after their amazing showing during the 2024 season. Pat Cummins led his side to the finals before losing to Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite the loss, SRH fans will be happy knowing the fact that the team has set itself a solid base going into the new season.

Kavya Maran made some huge purchases during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auctions. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami was picked up along with versatile pacer Harshal Patel. The costliest pick for SRH was former Mumbai Indians star Ishan Kishan who was purchased for INR 11.25 crores.

Pat Cummins was an automatic retention choice along with fellow Aussie star Travis Head and South African ace Heinrich Klaasen. Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy who have broken into the international stage have also been retained by Hyderabad for the coming season.

Here are the 3 SRH players who could warm the benches during IPL 2025 season

3. Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat

Veteran Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat had a brief career resurgence before heading back into obscurity. The left-arm pacer has played for a total of 8 teams and last year picked just 8 wickets from the 11 matches he was part of. Unadkat had a terrible economy rate of 10.23 runs per over and this could see him warm the benches for most part of IPL 2025 season.

2. Eshan Malinga

Eshan Malinga

Young Sri Lankan pacer Eshan Malinga has been picked as a backup by SRH ahead of the IPL 2025 season. The 23-year-old is yet to make his international debut for Sri Lanka and has played just 13 T20 games at the domestic level. Malinga has 13 wickets to show so far with an economy rate of 7.3 runs per over. Travis Head, Adam Zampa, Heinrich Klaasen, and Pat Cummins are set to be the 4 overseas players for SRH during the coming season and this could see Malinga warm the benches.

3. Atharva Taide

Atharva Taide

Young Vidarbha batter Atharva Taide was released by Punjab Kings after the IPL 2024 season. The left-handed batter has been touted as a player with immense talent and in 9 games for PBKS, Taide scored 247 runs with an average of 27 and a strike rate of 147. The youngster has also hit 2 fifties and SRH picked him for INR 30 Lakhs during the auction. Considering that SRH will go in with Head and Sharma at the top of the order, Taide could be watching the action from the sidelines during the coming season of IPL.
