3 South African players to watch out for in their 3rd ODI clash against Pakistan

After losing the T20I series against South Africa 2-0, Pakistan made a tremendous comeback as they sealed the 3-match ODI series by winning the first two matches. The third and final match will be a dead rubber, however, the Proteas will look to avoid the whitewash and save their pride.

The third ODI is set to be played on December 22 in Johannesburg. There are not many players from the South African team who have performed well in the ODI series so far but there are some players who have tried their best to save the team from the loss but didn’t get enough support from other players.

Here are the 3 South African players to watch out for in their 3rd ODI clash against Pakistan:

1. Heinrich Klaasen

It won’t be wrong to say that Heinrich Klaasen is currently the most dangerous player in the South African team. The star wicketkeeper-batter missed his well-deserved centuries in both ODIs. He scored 86 runs in the first match and 97 in the second. He would like to break the jinx in the third match and score a magnificent century.

2. Marco Jansen

The young all-rounder hasn’t had great outings in the first two ODIs with his bat but he was decent with the ball in both matches. Jansen claimed one wicket in the first ODI and conceded only 45 runs in 9.3 overs. In the 2nd ODI, he picked up 3 wickets but leaked 71 runs in his 10 overs quota. He would like to contribute with both bat and ball in the final ODI to help his team get a win.

3. Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram led the Proteas in the first ODI in the absence of Temba Bavuma. He was decent with the bat in both matches scoring 35 and 21 runs respectively. He was also pretty economical in the first match as he conceded only 42 runs in 10 overs but didn’t get a single wicket. He can help the South African to avoid the clean sweep.
