3 reasons why Rishabh Pant can move to Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2025

3 reasons why Rishabh Pant can move to Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2025

The anticipation of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is already flowing among the franchises as the BCCI will meet with them to discuss retention policies. As per reports, Rishabh Pant will be moving to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after MS Dhoni retires. While there is no confirmed information on this news, the CSK fans are both excited and upset to welcome Pant and bid farewell to MS Dhoni in the IPL. CSK has a set captain, but other changes are required for the team, and including Pant in the team will be a big plus.

Let’s discuss the three reasons why Rishabh Pant can move to CSK for IPL 2025:

1. Need a wicketkeeper after Dhoni’s retirement

While nobody is ready to bid MS Dhoni goodbye, the time will come soon, and the team must be prepared for it. Hence, taking Pant in the team will be beneficial for CSK as he is a valuable wicket-keeper who knows his game really well and can change games from behind the stumps. His reflexes as a keeper are pretty strong and that’s a good thing for CSK. They have no proper keeper on the team, and Pant’s addition will be positive for them.

2. CSK will get a reliable middle-order batter

CSK’s top-order is extremely good, like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, and Rachin Ravindra. The franchise will look to get these players back in the team as they are great contributors to the power play. However, CSK’s middle order seems to be a little weak. Hence, they can go for Pant, a tidy batter who can bring balance along with Shivam Dube, which will help CSK in the long run.

3. Pant is young so can fit in the team for a long run

Rishabh Pant is in his late 20s and will be playing cricket for a really long time. If he is included in the team, it will be good for them as he can play for the next three years, and they’ll have a stable line-up. CSK picks up older players but this time they should target younger players who can be a part of the team in the long run.
