3 reasons why Rinku Singh should be retained by KKR ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction

3 reasons why Rinku Singh should be retained by KKR ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction

Rinku Singh has been one of the best batters to emerge thanks to Indian Premier League. His form since the IPL 2022 season has seen him become one of the best young talents who has eventually made it to the national side. The 26-year-old didn’t enjoy a great season for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024 that saw them win the title.

The focus will be on Rinku Singh as he like the rest of the players across the ten teams will be waiting to learn their fate. IPL 2025 is set to host a mega auction which is set to see some huge names up for auctions.

There will be anticipation across the floor if Rinku Singh comes up for auction. The left-handed batter is one of the most sought-after names in the league. There is a good chance that Rinku Singh could be released by the current IPL winners ahead of the Auction that is set to take place.

Here are the three reasons why Rinku Singh should be retained by KKR ahead of the IPL 2025 Auctions.

1. Future captain candidate

Rinku Singh is a well-rounded cricketer who can win the games with his batting talents alone. The left-handed batter is also known to have a cool head on his shoulders and that will be a key aspect for the future of KKR. If the three-time IPL winners retain Rinku Singh they will have a readymade option for captaincy.

2. Key middle-order batter and finisher

Not many teams have the talents that Kolkata Knight Riders possess. Rinku Singh is a potent force with the bat in the backend of an innings. The ability he has with his clean hitting and power play, Rinku Singh is the biggest difference maker. Ever since the retirement of MS Dhoni the Indian fans have been asking for a finisher. KKR will do well to retain the youngster due to his ability to take the bowlers to the cleaners.

3. The future of the league

At the age of 26, Rinku Singh can become the face of the Indian Premier League in the next few years. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are at the far end of their careers. The likes of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rinku Singh will be counted as the future. Speaking from the commercial side KKR has a very smart owner Shah Rukh Khan who studies the market well. Rinku Singh could be the poster boy for KKR in the next few years and could propel both the team and the league to newer heights.
