The South African batter was one of the key pillars of Mumbai Indians for a few seasons and helped them win the title in 2020. After being released by Mumbai Indians Quinton De Kock was brought by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2022 season.

Here are the top 3 reasons why Quinton De Kock should be retained by Lucknow Super Giants

3- Lessen the burden on KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran

One of the key areas where Quinton De Kock can contribute is as a wicketkeeper. The South African has seen KL Rahul or Nicholas Pooran take the gloves on most occasions. The two stars will play a key part in the Lucknow batting next season and De Kock as the wicketkeeper will not only lend balance to the team but take the pressure and risk of injury to Pooran or Rahul.

2- Dangerous opening batter

In Quinton De Kock, Lucknow has a player who can flay any attack on his day. The left-handed batter has shown what a dangerous batter he can be during his IPL career. Lucknow needs a batter at the top of the order who can change the course of the game in the first six overs. Quinton De Kock can be that player with his clean-hitting ability.

1- Potential captaincy choice

With the future of KL Rahul as the captain not decided, there is a chance that Lucknow will want to look for a new leader. There is no better player than Quinton De Kock to lead the side with the amount of experience he has. The South African star can bring a new revolution to Lucknow with his tactics.
