Those who love Test cricket are going to have a great time in the next couple of months as the two powerhouses are locking horns with each other. India will face England in a 5-match Test series. It will be the toughest test for ‘Bazball’ and the English team will have to operate at their best to challenge India. In this article, we will highlight 3 reasons why India can whitewash England in the upcoming Test series.

The Indian conditions

The English team has found it tough to negotiate with Indian conditions whenever they have come to play a Test series in India. The low and slow tracks do not allow the batters to play free-flowing cricket and these pitches pose a different challenge to the batters. The past experiences do not suggest that the English batting unit can spring up a surprise this time around. It won’t be easy for them to take control of the alien conditions and trounce the Indian team.

Lack of experience

The English team is going through a phase of transition and they have shown trust in new faces to take their cricket forward. However, this can turn out to be a hindrance in their way as most of these players have not played Test cricket in India before. Players like Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, and Ben Duckett do not have enough experience of playing in these conditions and the English team will be relying heavily on these names. The ever-dominant Indian team might exploit this inexperience and use it to their advantage.

Brand – A Burden

English cricket has set out to change the way cricket is being played. Their ‘Bazball’ philosophy promises to revolutionize cricket, however, their biggest test is yet to come. We have seen in the ODI World Cup how their intent became a big hurdle in their campaign. The insistence on the brand of cricket that they are trying to play can backfire. If they are not able to adapt to the situations and mould their plans according to it then they might have to suffer a heavy drubbing.
