Despite having a star-studded squad in almost every season of the Indian T20 League, the Bangalore-based franchise is yet to get their hands on the title. However, there were also some players that you might not be aware of playing for Bangalore. And now, we will take a look at players you didn’t know played for Bangalore in the cash-rich league.
1. Eoin Morgan
Former England captain, Eoin Morgan played six games for Bangalore but failed to perform as he scored only 35 runs at an average of 11.67. Due to this, he was forced to make a move and played for Kolkata, later.
But then, he went to the Hyderabad-based franchise before the two-time champions bought him again and even named him the captain.
2. Steve Smith
One of the greatest Test batters in modern cricket, Australian cricketer Steve Smith was once a part of the Bangalore-based franchise but didn’t get to play a single game for them.
But he had the privilege to share the dressing room with some legendary players like Dale Steyn, Kevin Pietersen, Ross Taylor, and many more. However, ever since he departed from the franchise, he became successful in the international circuit and also got to lead the Pune-based franchise in 2017.
India’s star fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a consistent performer for the Hyderabad-based franchise, over the years, but many fans are not aware that he was a part of Bangalore in 2019 and 2010.
However, he didn’t play a single game for the team but he got a chance to play in the Champions League T20 against Delhi but couldn’t pick up even a single wicket. Bhuvneshwar is, currently, in action in the 16th edition of the cash-rich league and even captained the side in the opening match.
