3 Players to watch out for from Mumbai Indians squad in IPL 2024

The five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) have been in the headlines for the last couple of months due to their decisions around some major leadership changes. The joint-most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) faced a huge flak when they replaced the five-time IPL champion skipper Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as the captain of the team. 

Besides that, MI also invested in some young and experienced talents for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

He has scored 1060 runs in 44 innings of the 46 T20 matches he played so far, with an average of 25.85, hitting a century and 2 half-centuries. Mumbai Indians retained him in their squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024. 

He played in 7 innings with the bat in the Indian Premier League 2022, scoring 161 runs with an average of 23.00. He will be one of the players to watch out for in the Mumbai Indians squad during the upcoming edition of the tournament. 

2. Gerald Coetzee

Owing to his brilliant performances in the ODI World Cup 2023 for South Africa, Gerald Coetzee was bagged by the joint most successful team of the Indian Premier League Mumbai Indians bought him for a big amount of INR 5 crores. 

Coetzee ended up as the joint fourth leading wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup 2023, scalping 20 wickets in 8 innings of the 8 matches he played for South Africa in the tournament. His bowling will be one of the talking points in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. 

3. Hardik Pandya

The star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya attracted the eyeballs of social media for his massive transfer back to his previous franchise Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans. He was bought back by Mumbai Indians in an all-cash trade with the Gujarat Titans. Apart from that, Hardik was the talk of the town when he was appointed as the captain of the side for IPL 2024 to replace the former skipper, Rohit Sharma.
