3 players that RCB should target during WPL Auctions 2024

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished fourth in the regular season and could not break into the playoff spots. They are determined to turn the tables with a strengthened side this season. The upcoming auction is a great opportunity for them to plug the loopholes in order to live up to the expectations of the fanbase. In this article, we will take a look at 3 players that RCB should target in the auctions.

3 players that RCB should target:

1. Shabnim Ismail

Royal Challengers Bangalore have released the likes of Megan Schutt from their team which makes it mandatory for them to go for an experienced fast bowler. RCB is looking to rejuvenate their bowling unit and there can be no better option than the experienced Shabnim Ismail. She would be a perfect option to complement Sophie Devine and her recent form in WBBL has also been impressive. A young captain like Smriti Mandhana would like to have an experienced head in the bowling attack who can give her wickets in pressure situations.

2. Deandra Dottin

The mighty West Indian all-rounder is a great option for RCB to go for. Her hard-hitting abilities in the middle order would be crucial for RCB to shed off the pressure from batters like Smriti Mandhana at the top. Not just as a batter but as a fast bowler as well she can be key for RCB’s prospects. Dottin has been instrumental for the West Indies for quite some time and her all-round profile will give RCB a lot of stability that they were missing in the last season.

3. Chamari Athapaththu

Chamari Athapaththu

Chamari Athapaththu comes in with leadership qualities. She has been the captain of Sri Lanka for a long time and any team would like to use her experience. Athapaththu’s recent form is another reason that can spark a bidding war for the Sri Lankan skipper. She was the second-highest run-scorer in the recently concluded Women’s Big Bash League. She amassed 552 runs in 14 matches that she played which is a brilliant record. With the way RCB’s batting order performed last year, they should not think twice before going for her.
