3 players Rajasthan Royals can use the RTM card for in IPL 2025 Mega Auction 

Rajasthan Royals has been one of the best teams in the Indian Premier League in the last few years. Sanju Samson and his team came close to winning the title in 2022 when they qualified for the finals before losing to Gujarat Titans. 

In the last two editions, the Men in Pink have made it to the qualifiers and have become a formidable outfit. Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid is likely to take over as the new coach and replace Kumar Sangakkara who is linked with the England white-ball coaching job. 

The 2008 IPL winners will head into the IPL 2025 mega auctions to make the team even better. While the total retentions aren’t yet decided, the Right to Match could come into play once more during the auctions. 

Here are the three players Rajasthan Royals could use the right-to-match card for during IPL 2025 mega auctions.

3. Shimron Hetmyer 

The West Indian batter is known to be a brilliant striker of the ball and a very dangerous finisher. Rajasthan Royals may not opt to retain the services of the West Indian batter but might want to claim through the right-to-match card. Shimron Hetmyer adds a lot of value with the bat as well, as his ability to steady the innings and use the long handle towards the back of the innings.

2. Nandre Burger 

South African pace sensation Nandre Burger could be bought by Rajasthan Royals using the right-to-match card during the IPL 2025 mega auctions. The left-arm seamer bowled with great pace and unsettled the opposition batters in the limited chances he got during IPL 2024. Rajasthan Royals will want a backup option to Trent Boult for the next few years and there is no better option than Nandre Burger due to his pace.

1. Sandeep Sharma 

If the BCCI allows six retentions, Rajasthan Royals could opt to go for a majority of their batters. The chance of Sandeep Sharma making it to the retained list looks slim ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auctions. Rajasthan Royals though could exercise the right to match card during the IPL 2025 mega auctions for Sandeep Sharma. The veteran pacer was one of the best bowlers during the IPL 2024 season with his swing bowling and accurate bowling in the death overs.
