3 Players PBKS should not have released ahead of IPL 2024 auction

Punjab Kings, as is often the case, had a poor campaign in the last season and the franchise would be eager to finally get things right in the next season. Ahead of the auction, they have released some players and, in this article, we will shed light on those 3 players who should not have been released by Punjab of the IPL 2024 auction. 

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan, the talented hard-hitting middle order batter from Tamil Nadu, has been released by Punjab ahead of the mini-auction. This decision has raised some eyebrows as Shahrukh has the potential to become an outright match-winner for the team with his match-finishing prowess. He has not yet lived up to the potential but a bit of perseverance could have acted in Punjab’s favour. The middle-order batter has won a lot of games for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket and he could have done the same for Punjab in IPL.

Baltej Dhanda

Baltej Dhanda is a promising fast bowler who can trouble the batters with his early swing in the initial overs. Teams do need equally impressive players as overseas ones to create a wholesome impact, especially in the bowling department. Punjab had a bright prospect in Baltej Dhanda who could have been given a bit more time to find his feet in the IPL. He is a tall bowler who can extract extra bounce off the track which could have helped Punjab to become a solid bowling unit. 

Raj Angad Bawa

Raj Angad Bawa is another young player who has been released by Punjab. Bawa rose to fame with his impressive all-round performances in the 2021 Under-19 World Cup. Considering how tough it is to find quality all-rounders Punjab already had a young all-rounder who has a lot of potential and shouldn’t have been released. We have seen players emerging as match-winners if franchises stick to those players and give them a long rope to explore their talent on this stage.
