The recently concluded Sri Lanka series was nothing less than a nightmare for the Indian team. Most players failed to perform in the series, which cost India the series. 1. Shreyas Iyer
Making his comeback after a long time, Shreyas Iyer had a good IPL 2024 season and was expected to show the same performance in the ODI series. However, contrary to the expectations, he failed to perform in a single game, disappointing the supporters. Moreover, the middle order crashed, leading to India’s defeat in the ODI series.
2. Virat Kohli
The failure from Virat Kohli wasn’t expected at all since he’s a great player and has a good history against Sri Lanka. After playing in the T20 World Cup 2024, he returned to the ODI series. Kohli’s batting order was set, but he still failed to perform in one game. Moreover, he was dismissed by spinners in all games, which was a major setback for the batter.
3. Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj is one of those players with a great record against Sri Lanka. However, this series was a nightmare for Siraj as he didn’t get many wickets but conceded a lot of runs. He was one of the best Indian bowlers but lost his touch in the series. Moreover, the pitch didn’t support the pacers as well which was another setback for the player.
