3 players Chennai Super Kings can use the RTM card for in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced an unexpected setback in the IPL 2024 season. They finished outside the top four due to a slightly inferior Net Run Rate (NRR) despite their illustrious history and recent title win.

As the team looks to regroup and strategize for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, they have the option to use the Right to Match (RTM) card to secure key players who can potentially strengthen their squad. Here are three players CSK might consider using their RTM card for:

1. Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube has been a valuable asset for CSK over the past two seasons. With 1,103 runs in 41 matches between 2022 and 2024, Dube has proven his worth as a dependable middle-order batter. His highest score of 95* and an impressive batting average of 34.46 underline his consistent performance.

Although his bowling contributions have been minimal, Dube’s ability to anchor innings and provide crucial runs makes him a strong candidate for the RTM card. His all-around potential and significant impact with the bat could be crucial for CSK’s revival.

2. Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra

Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has shown promising signs in his limited appearances for CSK, amassing 222 runs in 10 matches with a highest score of 61. His batting average of 22.20 reflects a solid, though not exceptional, performance.

While Ravindra has yet to make a mark with the ball, his ability to contribute with the bat and his potential for growth make him a worthwhile consideration. Utilizing the RTM card for Ravindra could offer CSK the chance to retain a player with untapped potential and a promising future.

3. Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar

Another Indian allrounder Deepak Chahar’s tenure with CSK has been marked by notable performances, particularly with the ball. Over 76 matches from 2018 to 2024, Chahar has taken 76 wickets, with his best bowling figures being 4/13.

Although his batting contributions are limited, his skills as a bowler, particularly in the powerplay and death overs, are invaluable. Chahar’s ability to swing the ball and his experience make him a strong candidate for CSK’s RTM card. His retention could bolster CSK’s bowling attack, a crucial aspect for any team aiming to secure IPL success.
