The Champions Trophy 2025 is approaching faster than ever and most of the teams have revealed their squads for the upcoming tournament. However, India and Pakistan are yet to announce their squad. BCCI’s Vice-president Rajeev Shukla spoke to the media and mentioned that India’s squad will be released on February 17 or 18. The Champions Trophy will commence on February 19, with the first match to be played between Pakistan and New Zealand.
The players of the participating nations are quite happy and excited because the ICC event is returning after a gap of eight years. Pakistan are the reigning champions and since they are hosting the tournament this time, they have a high chance of retaining the trophy.
As per reports, Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the league stages of the tournament due to injury. Hence, the selectors will look for players who can replace him in the squad.

1. Arshdeep Singh
India’s go-to bowler in the shortest format, Arshdeep Singh, might get a chance in place of Bumrah this time because he’s been with the Indian team for a long time now and produced results. Also, his recent performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy is just outstanding. Hence, he has a higher chance of replacing the pacer.
2. Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna is a terrific pace bowler who has played some brilliant games in the past. He has played in 17 ODIs and taken 29 wickets at an average of 25.58. He can be a backup pacer for India in the ICC event.
3. Avesh Khan
Another backup option for India is Avesh Khan who has represented India in the past. Although the player didn’t get a chance to play many games, but will still be in contention in case Bumrah misses out. Avesh has displayed some great performances in domestic cricket and IPL which might help him to get a place in the team.
