England are set to face Australia in a five match ODI series starting on the 19th of September. The first match of the series is set to be a day and night encounter which will be played at the Trent Bridge stadium in Nottingham. It is the first ODI match for England since their final game that took place in the 2023 ODI World Cup against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The English selectors decided to name Harry Brook as the skipper of the side. It was a bold choice since the youngster hasn’t played too many ODI matches. Harry Brook has the experience of playing in India thanks to his stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023 season. The England selectors and McCullum in particular will have their eyes set on both the titles and make England the best white ball side again.
2. Vital Cog in the middle order
Without the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow, it is upto Harry Brook to lead the England batting. The young batter can play pace and spin with equal ease and is a known hitter of the ball. Harry Brook is also a good runner between the wickets and is electric in the field. The youngster when in form can score the big runs and he has played just 15 ODI matches but his tall run scoring in the Test format will make him a huge player.
