3 bowlers who will take the most wickets during the India vs South Africa Test series

The Indians are ready for their next big assignment after the ODI World Cup. They are desperate to challenge the Proteas in order to conquer their final frontier. India has never won a Test series in South Africa and this will be their chance to write the history. It will be a battle between two formidable bowling units and moving further in this article we will take a look at 3 bowlers who are the contenders to become the highest wicket taker in this series.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada

The South African fast bowler has now emerged as the leader of the bowling attack for the Proteas. Kagiso Rabada will be the biggest threat factor for Indian batters as he is a top-notch wicket-taker in his home conditions. His track record in South Africa is phenomenal and in the last test series that India played in South Africa, he was the highest wicket-taker with 20 wickets. Rabada would be keen to replicate that performance and clinch this crucial series for his team.

Jasprit Bumrah

In the absence of Mohammad Shami, the burden of expectations on Jasprit Bumrah will be even more but the seasoned Indian speedster knows how to live up to the expectations. South Africa’s batting lineup is one of their weak links and Bumrah would like to exploit that. On fast and bouncy tracks of South Africa Bumrah would get extra assistance which might be a cause of concern for the Proteas. South Africa is special for Bumrah as he made his test debut here and the Indian vice-captain must be eager to make this series more special for him and Team India.

Marco Jansen

Another prominent contender to become the highest wicket-taker in this series will be the left-handed fast bowler, Marco Jansen. Jansen made his test debut against India, the last time they had arrived in South Africa for a Test series, in 2021. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in that series, following Kagiso Rabada, with 19 wickets. He will pose a big challenge to the Indian batters in the upcoming series as well. Being a left-arm bowler always gives an edge and Jansen’s height adds to his wicket-taking abilities.
