There are many legendary cricketers in India who have achieved great things in the game. The era which started from the likes of Sunil Gavaskar has reached the time we are watching the domination of Virat Kohli. There is no doubt that we have witnessed some of the best players to ever grace the field donning the sky blue jersey representing the country in one of the most popular sports in the game.
There have been many iconic legends in the game, but the man who has been one of the pioneers of the game is none other than Sachin Tendulkar. Known as the God of cricket the Master blaster was easily one of the greatest batters in the world, who has scored more than 34000 runs and scored 100 international centuries for India. There are a lot of memorable innings played by this great Indian batter we can never forget at all.
The first batter to 15000 ODI runs
Scoring runs came naturally to Tendulkar and he has dominated every team he was up against, whether it be the aggressive Aussies or arch rivals Pakistan. His performance in both Tests and ODI’s were iconic , but it was 29th June 2007 where he created history in the format. It was Andre Nel bowling the 20th Over and Tendulkar played a beautiful drive through mid off to become the fastest and the first batter to complete 15000 runs in ODI cricket. This is a milestone no batter has reached yet and this is the boundary that made it all happen.
Tendulkar also went onto become the player of the match in this encounter and went on to finish with a score of 93 from 106 deliveries. India also went on to win the game against the Proteas and though the great man might have missed out on his century, it was still a sensational knock that cemented him as the best batter in the world. This great moment will never be forgotten by any Indian cricket fan.
