ZIM vs AFG (3rd T20I)
Zimbabwe were whitewashed by Afghanistan at home in the three-match ODI series. The hope was to turn around in the T20. But that did not happen. The Zimbabweans were also whitewashed by the Afghans in the 20-over format.
After winning the toss, the Afghans opted to bat first for a good chasing score and sent off the Zimbabwe to field.
In the third and final match, Zimbabwe had a great chance to win. Because, the Afghans who came down to bat first got stuck for 125 runs. But Zimbabwe came down to answer and stopped at 90 runs. As a result, the hosts lost by 35 runs.
The Afghans won the toss and elected to bat at the Sports Club ground in Harare and faced controlled bowling by Zimabwe. No batsman could bat comfortably. As a result, Afghanistan was able to score 125 runs losing 8 wickets.
Mohammad Nabi scored the highest 31 runs. He used 30 balls to make 31 runs and also hit 2 fours. He was caught out by Luke Jongwe in the 19th over and returned to the dressing room.
Afsar Zazai, who scored 24 off 24 balls, hit 1 four and 1 six. He was bowled out in the 12th over by Sikander Raza.
Ihsanullah hit four fours off 14 balls for a total of 20 runs. He was caught out by Tiripano and left for the dressing room.
Hazratullah Zazai scored 12 runs. He played a total of 11 balls and left the field after being caught out by Chatara. Besides that, Azmatullah Omarzai was dismissed for 11 runs.
Apart from these five batsmen, no one can cross the boundary of 10 runs. Najibullah, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmed, Nijat Masood have scored only 17 runs. With 10 runs extra, the Afghans set a target of 126 runs.
For Zimbabwe, Ryan Burl and Raja took two wickets each for 22 and 18 runs respectively. In addition, Chatara, Tiripano, ndelovu, Jongwe got 1 wicket each.
Came down to chase 126 runs Zimbabwe fell into the danger. Ryan Burl scored a maximum of 15 runs. He spent a total of 24 balls and hit 1 four. He left the field after caught out by Fazalhaq.
Wesley Madhevere made 14 off 14 balls. There were two fours in his collection. Ashraf caught him out and sent him back to the dressing room.
Ndlovu scored 13 runs from 19 balls. He remains undefeated. Innocent Kaia made 12 off 14 balls and was run out. Tadiwanashe Marumani made 11 runs from 18 balls. He was bowled out by Noor Ahmed and left the field.
Also Sikandar Raza, Donald Tiripano left the field with a golden duck. Craig Ervine, Clive Madande, Luke Jongwe and Tendai Chatara all combined scored 13 runs. Zimbabwe lost all their wickets for 90 runs with an extra 12 runs.
Left-arm orthodox spinner Noor Ahmed took 4 wickets for 10 runs in 4 overs. Sharafuddin Ashraf took 2 wickets. Fazal Haq Farooqi and Rashid Khan took 1 wicket each.
