The ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has finally come down. Comilla Victorians clinched their ninth title by defeating Sylhet Strikers in the final. With this, Nafisa Kamal’s team won the BPL title for the fourth time. However, Comilla did not start the tournament well. But that team is returning home as champions. The team achieved this success under the leadership of Imrul Kayes.
On Thursday, Sylhet and Comilla met in the BPL final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Comilla captain Imrul won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mashrafe bin Mortaza’s team got 175 runs by batting first. Comilla chased the challenging target given by Sylhet with the bat of Liton Kumar Das and Johnson Charles.
Charles won the man of the match award by winning the match. Expressing his feelings, the aggressive batsman said, “I enjoyed this match. The wicket was good. Two hundred runs could have been scored easily. But the opponent scored 175, which is low. If you execute the plan on the field, good results come. I am thrilled to leave the field by winning the team.”
Imrul is also very happy after winning the BPL title. But, of course, there is a particular reason for his happiness level. He is the captain who won three titles for Comilla. Imrul said, “It’s been a great journey for us in the tournament. We won the championship for the fourth time. It’s also great for us as the captain. Third time as the captain, we won the BPL title.”
Meanwhile, Nafisa Kamal’s team won the BPL title, and the excitement in the cricket arena also increased. Because before the start of the tournament, the owner of the Comilla team said that his team would win the title without any Panchpandav cricketers. Comilla won the label, according to that. On the other hand, Mashrafe’s team lost again. Because of that, the fight for words has also increased among cricket lovers.
After Comilla became the BPL champion for the fourth time, the question in the minds of cricket fans was how much money the Comilla team got as champions. Comilla won the title and got two crore rupees. On the other hand, losing in the final, becoming the runner-up Sylhet team led by Mashrafe, received Tk 1 crore.
