Right-arm spinner Nayeem Hasan has played a total of seven Tests in his three-and-a-half-year national team career. As a result of doing well in the test, the badge of Test Specialist has been added next to his name. However, as Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who recently played in his place, performed exceptionally well, he has not been able to get the opportunity. In the first Test of the last Sri Lanka series, he got an opportunity due to the injury of Miraz. He has also proved himself well. However, on the fourth day, Nayeem was injured and dropped out of the national team again.

Nayeem’s career has been accompanied by repeated ups and downs due to repeated injuries and recovery. Speaking to reporters in Mirpur, Nayeem said, ”There is nothing to be disappointed about. There must be ups and downs in the life of a sportsman. I will try my best to be stronger when I return. The injury was not in my hands nor was it in anyone’s hands. In fact, nothing like that happens. Because I was not at the beginning of the Sri Lanka series. Then Allah gave me the opportunity. Then I played, I played well, I didn’t have any injuries. What has happened, Alhamdulillah. ”

After about 15 months, he took 6 wickets back in the national team jersey. However, Nayeem left the field on the fourth day of the first Test with a finger injury. Later X-ray reports showed that the finger of this right-handed off-spinner was broken. In response to the question of whether he is frustrated as he was knocked out due to injury although performing well, he said, ‘Now I have only to work hard. Always try to keep myself ready. Whenever the opportunity arises, there will be an effort to give 100%. If the team management wants to give me another chance, I will try to give my 100%. Injuries will come in the life of a sportsman. You can’t be disappointed with that. We will try our best to come back later. ”

Nayeem is currently spending his time in cycling and the gym. However, X-rays will be done again next week. After getting a positive report, he will start bowling. Besides, he is also scheduled to join the camp of the Bangladesh Tigers. Nayeem said, ”Now it is much better than before. I hope I can start bowling on the 12th or 15th. Now I am cycling and doing gym.”
