India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was hungry for runs after not playing a single match in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. In the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe in Harare, he wreaked havoc, smashing 93 runs which helped the Men in Bue pick up a 10-wicket win over the Chevrons. Skipper Shubman Gill supported him well, hitting 58 runs off 39 balls as India sealed the series.
After winning the toss, the visitors decided to bowl first as the idea was to analyse the conditions first. Their bowlers did a commendable job despite a strong start from Zimbabwe. Interestingly, Abhishek Sharma, who leaked plenty of runs in the series gave the first breakthrough while Shivam Dube picked up the wicket of Wessly Madhevere, which put Zimbabwe on the backfoot.
Skipper Sikandar Raza tried to pull out Zimbabwe from a difficult position but he failed. The veteran all-rounder smashed 46 runs off 28 balls as the hosts posted 152 runs in the first innings. Pacer Khaleel Ahmed picked up two wickets while Tushar Deshpande, Washington Sundar, Abhishek and Dube picked up one each.
When it came to the chase, Gill and Jaiswal were mostly dealing with boundaries. They wanted to finish it early as both cricketers looked flawless in the middle. Zimbabwe bowlers looked clueless in the middle as none of them could stop the juggernaut.

Jaiswal particularly played an aggressive brand of cricket as his innings comprised of ___ boundaries and ____ sixes. He had a fantastic night and was eventually adjudged Player of the Match. With that, he has sealed his berth for the series against Sri Lanka.
Gill, on the other hand, comfortably hit a half-century, proving that he is ready for T20I cricket. With India scheduled to Sri Lanka next, there were question marks on Gill’s presence, given how good Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been in the series. However, with a brilliant half-century to his name, the star India batter is once again in contention.
