Pakistan got all over Zimbabwe in the second T20I of the series to record a resounding victory by 10 wickets. Zimbabwe’s horror show with the bat on opting to bat first was followed by the visitors zooming to victory in no time.

The hosts had got off to quite a decent start in all honesty. The duo of Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani had propelled Zimbabwe to a score of 37 before the first wicket fell. The first delivery of the sixth over saw yet another new batter coming in. Abbas Afridi, who had started off with a maiden, secured the big fish, Sikandar Raza, just after the powerplay had concluded. It was in the ninth over of the game that Sufiyan Muqeem started off with a bang with a double-wicket over to leave Zimbabwe in all sorts of trouble.

The very next over saw Zimbabwe eight-down with yet another over in which Muqueem accounted for a couple of batters. Zimbabwe’s innings ended briefly after as Muqeem accounted for his fifth and the opposition’s 10th in a marvellous exhibition from the 25-year-old. Zimbabwe were completely blown away by the Green Shirts, who ran through the batting lineup of the hosts in just a matter of 20 runs. Muqueem ended up with the best T20I figures by a Pakistani (2.4-0-3-5).

Pakistan displayed their intent right from the first over of the run-chase. Raza was taken for 11.  The third and fourth overs were also sprayed for 13 each. Saim Ayub finished off the match with a couple of boundaries off Blessing Muzarabani to record a dominating victory. The 87-run margin was the largest in T20Is between full members. It was also Zimbabwe’s lowest total in T20Is, as well as the lowest match aggregate (118) between the two sides in the 20 matches they have played against each other.
