Having already lost the ODI series against New Zealand women, Pakistan women registered a consolation win in the third and final match of the series on Monday, December 18 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. Notably, it was the first win by Pakistan over New Zealand women in ODIs. After being put in to bat first, New Zealand posted a decent score of 251/8 in their allotted 50 overs riding on a brilliant knock from Amelia Kerr (77 off 87).
In reply, Pakistan also managed to tie the score riding on a brilliant knock from Bismah Maroof (68 off 86). The two teams contested in a super over after the tied affair where Pakistan batted first and scored 11 runs. In reply, Sadia Iqbal successfully defended the score by dismissing Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine inside five balls as New Zealand could only score 8 runs.
