Twitter Reactions: Fans react as Steve Smith brings up his 33rd Test Ton during the third Test at the Gabba

Australian star batter Steven Smith scored his 33rd Test century in the ongoing 3rd Test against India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Aussie legend finally finding some form in the series after disappointing outings in Perth and Adelaide with Aussies looking in top form on the 2nd day during the Gabba Test.

The Australian batters got the better of the Indian bowlers during the 2nd Test at the Gabba thanks to the terrific 4th wicket partnership between Steve Smith and Travis Head. Though it was Travis Head who had started the onslaught during the match, former Aussie skipper Steve Smith was looking in great form as well. The World Class batter scored 101 runs off 190 deliveries which included 12 boundaries. This was a much-needed knock from the 2-time World Champion.

This was also the end of his lean patch in Test cricket as he scored a century after 536 days in the format. This is the confidence that he needed to finally break his terrible outing in the red-ball format and he will be happy that it has come at one of the most iconic venues in cricket history. He will be disappointed that he could not continue his innings after getting to his milestone but it is a great sign for the Baggy Greens that he has finally found some form in the series.

Smith played a great supporting role to Travis Head during his innings and the two formed an incredible 4th wicket partnership of 241 runs from 302 deliveries to put the hosts in front. It was Travis Head who continued to take on the bowlers while Smith played the necessary anchor role during the partnership. Smith has proven once again why he is one of the best batters in the game displaying his elegance and unorthodox shot-making skills that made him a household name in the game.
