Twitter Reactions: Deccan Gladiators clinch Abu Dhabi T10 title after thrilling finale against Morrisville Samp Army

The latest season of the Abu Dhabi T10 2024 came to an end with Deccan Gladiators registering an emphatic win and clinching the glorious title. Gladiators took on Morrisville Samp Army in the summit clash of the tournament at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, on Monday, December 02.

The clash began with Morrisville coming in to bat first after losing the toss. The side opened their innings with Sharjeel Khan departing for just five runs. However, Faf du Plessis showed resilience and managed to stabilise the innings with a knock of 34 runs in 23 deliveries.

Furthermore, Charith Asalanka added 13 runs on the board, with Andries Gous playing a quick-fire knock of 21 runs in just nine deliveries. Karim Janat stayed unbeaten on a score of 16 runs in eight deliveries as Deccan Gladiators posted a total of 104 runs in the first innings.

As for Gladiators, Richard Gleeson was the highest wicket-taker with two wickets to his name. Maheesh Theekshana, Anrich Nortje, Ibrar Ahmad, and Usman Tariq took one wicket each as well.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore propels Gladiators to astounding win

Aiming to chase down a target of 105 runs, Deccan Gladiators got off to a stellar start to the run chase. Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Nicholas Pooran opened the innings for their side with knocks of 56* and 28 runs, respectively. Rilee Rossouw and Jos Buttler scored 12 runs each as well, with Buttler staying unbeaten as Deccan Gladiators chased down the target in 6.5 overs, winning the game by eight wickets.

As for Samp Army, Amir Hamza and Isuru Udana were the only wicket-takers for their side, with one wicket each to their name. Registering a dominant win, Deccan Gladiators lifted the prestigious silverware.
