Having said that, who can forget the mind-boggling finishing of the Aligarh-based Rinku Singh who smacked five sixes in tandem to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? As a result, the special knock for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) paved the way for the Uttar Pradesh batter to not only get selected for the upcoming Asian Games but also for Team India in the T20I format while on the tour of Ireland, recently.

Since then the UP Player has garnered immense interest in the country resulting in him being picked as a marquee player in the newly started UP T20 League. In the same vein, Rinku Singh has yet again hit the headlines for his impeccable finishing prowess. Playing for the Meerut Mavericks in the ongoing UP T20 2023 League, Rinku Singh soaked in all the pressure and smashed three consecutive sixes for a thrilling Super Over finish.

Speaking of the game, Meerut locked horns with the Kashi Rudras in the UP T20 fixture. After winning the toss, courtesy of Madhav Kaushik’s blitzkrieg (87* off 52 balls), the Mavericks were able to put up a big score of 181/4 on the board. In reply, despite having lost an early wicket, Kashi’s top-order batters in the form of Karan Sharma (58 off 44 balls) and Shivam Bansal (57 off 41 balls) set up a solid platform with their 113-run stand for the second wicket to almost pull off the thrilling run chase. However, the Meerut bowlers had other plans and halted the Rudras to claim a Super Over battle.

Batting first in the tie-breaker phase, the Kashi Rudras were able to score a decent 16 runs for a target set for the Meerut Mavericks. Given the reputation of having a calm demeanor and magnificent finishing skills, the Mavericks asked Rinku Singh to go out and finish the job for the team. Incredibly enough, the Aligarh batter took matters into his hands and started calmly with a dot ball.

Thereafter, it was the ‘Rinku Singh’ show as the southpaw took the left-arm spinner, Shiva Singh, to the cleaners with a sensational six over the long off in the second ball of the over. In the next ball, Rinku yet again launched his ballistic shot through the deep mid-wicket and lastly, he finished the proceedings with another thumping six over the long off region.
