Chasing a challenging target of 173 runs in reply, the Welsh Fire was put under pressure from the start by the controlled bowling of the Trent Rockets bowlers.  As a result, they lost 2 wickets while scoring 38 runs in the power play.

Opener Tom Banton (9) returned to the dressing room being lbw by Sam Cook for the team’s 11 runs.  Wicket-keeper batsman Joe Clarke scored 15 runs off 14 balls.  Ben Duckett and Matthew Critchley then tried to catch the responsibility of the team.  These two made a partnership of 34 runs off 28 balls.

The Welsh Fire was knocked out of this match 3 runs later as Leus du Plooy (2) was bowled by Samit Patel and got back to the pavilion.
