Half of the matches of the ninth season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) have been played. But there is still no end to complaints and irregularities. The organizing committee has been mired in controversies since the start of the tournament. Finally, there have been serious complaints like ticket black-marketing in this franchise-based T20 league. And such an incident happened in Sylhet.
This year’s BPL has lost a lot of colors compared to all previous seasons. In the Dhaka and Chittagong phase, not many spectators came to the ground to watch the game. But the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is filled to the brim with spectators. Many people rushed to the stadium to watch the BPL match. But the spectators who come to watch the game complain that they have to buy tickets from the black market at high prices.
In the Chittagong phase of the BPL, Sylhet phase tickets were found outside the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and at the counter of the Sylhet District Stadium. The ticket price has also been fixed according to the gallery stand, on behalf of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. But many visitors are not getting tickets on that price. In the end, they are buying tickets from black marketers at exorbitant prices.
Meanwhile, BCB card holders are among those selling outside the counter. But staying away from buying tickets from them at exorbitant prices, on the contrary, the spectators handed them over to the police. It is known that the name of a person arrested by the police is Parvez. However, the police did not detain him for long. Being a BCB person, he was released to the custody of BCB security personnel by the police.
The audience was angry at such an incident. However, BCB has not given any statement on this matter so far. There is a storm of criticism in Bangladesh cricket for stopping the irregularities in the Sylhet Stadium where the BPL was played with a full audience. After the Sylhet phase of the BPL, the BPL is being played again in Dhaka. It is not yet known what initiative BCB is taking to prevent the emergence of black market. In the BPL of so many moans, it is the spectators who are giving a little life. If that too is lost due to irregularities and black market, then the whole tournament will lose color.
