Mohammad Hasnain, a young Pakistani fast bowler, used to create speed storms with the ball. But umpire Gerard Abood expressed doubts about his bowling action while playing in the Australian T20 Big Bash League. Examining the action, Gerard’s suspicions were confirmed.
Since then, the 22-year-old cricketer has embarked on a mission to correct the action. Hasnain, however, succeeded very quickly. The changed action right-handed pacer was retested in Lahore. The ICC’s expert panel has ruled that Hasnain’s elbow is not bending more than 15 degrees.
However, Hasnain was not barred from playing domestic cricket during the ban. But, he could not play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This time he got permission to play international cricket. He was banned for his action last January, but the fight is now on to prove himself with the new action.
Hasnain has worked on his action with Pakistan development team coach Umar Rashid. It was sent to Australian experts for observation on May 21 after taking a test to correct the action under him. This time no more errors were found in Hasnain’s bowling.
Meanwhile, Hasnain last played for Pakistan in December last year. Hasnain, who entered the international arena in 2019, has played 8 ODIs and 16 T20s matches so far. He took a total of 29 wickets in Pakistan’s jersey. However, the strongest aspect of this fast bowler is that he bowls quite effectively.
