The 2021-22 Dhaka Premier League (DPL) season has ended. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club clinched the title of the champion of the tournament. They got a taste of kissing the DPL title for the first time under the leadership of captain Imrul Kayes. Runners-up is Mashrafe-Sakib’s team, Legends of Rupganj. Who is the best batsman at the end of this biggest domestic cricket event? Let’s take a look.

Anamul Haque Bijoy is the best batsman in the last DPL. Bijoy may not have even imagined how he spent this season with the bat. Prime Bank’s opener has become irresistible in every match. As soon as he enters the field, it must be a century or half-century. 1138 runs from 15 matches. Bijoy has scored 9 fifties and 3 centuries in an incredible 98.61 strike rate. The highest run-scoring innings was 184 at an average of 81.28.

Naeem Islam could not survive in the end even though he once ran with Bijoy in the race to collect runs. This batsman from Rupganj had to be satisfied in second place with 859 runs at the end of the tournament. Where Naeem has scored 2 centuries with 5 fifties. The third highest run-scorer was Abahani captain Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. The right-handed batsman has scored 658 runs in 15 matches with 7 half-centuries in the tournament.

Prime Bank also reigns supreme in the list of wicket hunters. Young batsman Rakibul Hasan’s whirlwind magic has knocked out the opposing batsmen. The left-arm spinner, who won the Under-19 World Cup in 2019, has taken 29 wickets. Rakibul, who bowled very frugally, averaged 20.37. However, Prime Bank could not become the champion even in such a triumph of the team’s cricketers.

The other two foreign stars are among the top three bowlers in this year’s DPL. Sheikh Jamal’s Indian recruit Parvez Rasool is the second-highest wicket-taker with 18 wickets in 15 matches. At a 3.15 economy rate, his bowling average is 15.85. Another Indian, Chirag Jani, is at number three. He has taken 27 wickets at an average of 18.22 in 15 matches in Rupganj’s jersey. Whose economy rate is 4.80.
