Taskin Ahmed is returning to the T20 squad

Taskin Ahmed was left out of the three-format squad for the upcoming West Indies tour due to injury. He was only included in the ODI team. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is considering adding Taskin’s name to the T20 squad this time as he recovers quickly from the injury.

Chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu told the media, “Yes, there are plans to take him to the T20 squad. If he becomes fit and reports come to us, he will be added to the T20 squad. ”

After recovering from a back injury, Taskin has now begun to practice in full force. Although not available in the Tests, BCB doctor Debashish Chowdhury has given him permission to play in two formats of limited over. As such, Taskin is optimistic about getting into the T20 squad.

Regarding Taskin, Debashish said, “Taskin is in the middle stage of rehabilitation, which means in the second phase. Now he is able to bowl at the full run-up to 70-80 intensity and this is how his fitness will continue to increase. Hopefully, he will have no problem playing in the short version in West Indies. ”

Taskin had to return home midway through his tour of South Africa due to a shoulder injury. After that, he also missed Dhaka Premier League (DPL). He was not seen in the Test series at home a few days ago. The Tigers lost the series 1-0 against Sri Lanka. At this time, the team suffered from bad bowling by the pacers.
