Tamim is in favour of bringing a new captain from BPL

বিপিএল থেকে নতুন অধিনায়ক তুলে আনার পক্ষে তামিম

Young cricketers like Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Yasir Ali Rabi are leading the charge in the ninth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Although there are national team captains and senior cricketers among them, the burden of leadership has been placed on the shoulders of youngsters. Of course, there is a lot of talk about these issues in the cricket community of Bangladesh.

Yasir’s captaincy over Tamim Iqbal in Khulna Tigers has come up more than other teams. Because Tamim is the current ODI captain of the Bangladesh team. On the other hand, Yasir has not yet secured his place on the national team. In that case, Tamim is supposed to lead the star-studded Khulna. But Yasir is handling that responsibility in BPL.

However, Tamim is looking at the matter positively here. According to him, new leadership needs to be brought from the domestic league. Regarding not captaining himself, Tamim said, “There is no such thing as being a captain in the national team means leading in the domestic league. It is better to give the captaincy to newcomers in this type of tournament. So that new captains can be prepared for the future.”

Meanwhile, Yasir’s journey as a captain has not been pleasant. He could not win his team in the first match against Nasir Hossain’s Dhaka Dominators. Although the BPL has only just begun. The whole tournament is still left. Since Khulna is confident, we will have to wait till the end. Of course, Yasir may also want to prove his leadership skills and give something good to the team.

Cricket analysts think that Tamim’s words are not completely unreasonable. All the big stars of the country and abroad come to play in the franchise leagues. Cricket analysts feel that performing individually while handling the pressure of leading those teams helps a player develop to the fullest. Tigers’ dashing opener Tamim Iqbal may be thinking in the same way in the case of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the controversy has started since the start of BPL. As soon as the controversy over the absence of DRS in BPL, a new controversy started about umpiring. Shakib was seen protesting the umpire’s decision on the field. Before the start of the BPL, no matter how much the Bangladesh Cricket Board talks about making the BPL free of controversy, the matter is BCB started to understand that it is not easy.
