IPL 2022 – Match 12 (SRH vs LSG)
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have clinched a 12-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 12th match of IPL 2022 on Monday at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, thanks to a great spell by Avesh Khan. After losing the toss, LSG scored 169 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
LSG captain KL Rahul scored the highest 68 runs off 50 balls. Deepak Hooda also played a stormy inning of 51 off 33 balls smashing 3 fours and 3 sixes. T Natarajan, Washington Sundar, and Romario Shepherd took two wickets each for SRH.
SRH’s innings came to a halt scoring 157 runs for 9 in the allotted 20 overs by the controlled bowling of the LSG bowlers in reply to LSG’s challenging target. Rahul Tripathi top-scored with 44 runs from 30 balls for the team. In addition, Nicholas Pooran scored 34, and Washington scored 18 runs.
For LSG, Avesh Khan took the maximum number of 4 wickets with 24 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Jason Holder took 3 wickets, and Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets.
After winning this match, Lucknow Super Giants has risen to the 5th position in the points table. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad is now at the bottom of the points table after the debacle.

SA vs BAN (1st Test – Day 5)
The target for Bangladesh was 274 runs to win the first Test against hosts South Africa in Durban. However, they lost 3 wickets to score only 11 runs on the fourth day. At the beginning of the fifth day, Bangladesh’s innings collapsed like a house of cards, and they were restricted to 53 runs. As a result, Bangladesh got a taste of a shameful loss of 220 runs.
Proteas spinners Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer did not let Bangladeshi batsmen stay on the wicket for an hour. Maharaj took 7 wickets for 32 and Harmer took 3 wickets for 21 runs.
In the fifth ball of the first over of the day, Maharaj trapped Mushfiqur Rahim in lbw. Mushfiqur could not start scoring even though he played five balls, and he could not survive despite going for a review. Liton Das also fell victim to Maharaj soon after coming down to bat by scoring only 2 runs. Then Maharaj bowled Yasir Ali (5) and completed his 5-wickets haul. Harmer sent off Mehidy Hasan for 33 runs.
Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh’s highest run-getter in the innings, got out after a 17-run stand with Taskin Ahmed. He scored 26 runs off 52 balls with one six and one four, and Khaled Ahmed returned with zero runs. Taskin was the last batsman to be dismissed for 14 runs.
Keshav Maharaj has been selected as the Player of the Match. The win gave South Africa a 1-0 lead in the 2-match Test series. The second and final Test between the two sides will start on April 8 in Port Elizabeth.
