South Africa announce team for T20 World Cup, Dussen ruled out

The T20 World Cup is knocking on the door. This year’s T20 World Cup will start in Australia from October 16. As the starting date of the season approaches, the impression of preparation among the participating teams is also quite visible. The teams are also announcing their squads one by one for the World Cup.

After Australia and England, this time South Africa announced the team. However, one of the most important batsmen of the middle-order, Rassie van der Dussen, did not get a place in the 15-member squad of the Proteas. As usual, top-order batsman Temba Bavuma has led South Africa in Australia.

However, due to injury, Bavuma had to stay out of the Proteas’ England tour for the entire series. He did not go under the doctor’s scissors to heal that injury. Rather, he has prepared for the World Cup through close observation. And Bavuma, who succeeded in that, is going to return to the field with the upcoming tour of India.

On the other hand, Dussen, who was left out of the World Cup team, got injured during the second Test match against England. He had to return to the country after that test because his left finger was broken. It was later learned that it will took more than six weeks for Dussen to fully recover. Riley Russo will also play in the World Cup.

It should be noted that this T20 World Cup will be held from October 16 to November 13. T20 World Cup matches will be held in 7 cities in Australia. The teams will play a total of 45 matches. Let’s see how the South African team is going to do in this World Cup.

Temba Bavuma (captain), Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Rilee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs.

Travelling Reserves:  Bjorn Fortuin, Marco Jansen, and Andile Phehlukwayo
